How we work
A clear brief, explicit discipline interfaces, and engineering decisions documented so they remain understandable long after handover.
Principles
Understand the task
We establish the intended outcome, constraints, assumptions, and acceptance criteria before committing to specific solutions.
Recognise interfaces
Mechanical, electronic, firmware, and production decisions heavily influence one another. Wherever two parts meet, we review these interfaces explicitly to ensure smooth integration without conflicts.
Document decisions
We take care to record the decisions and details we make throughout our design process so that we can deliver quickly, safely and reliably.
Look forward
A one-off proof-of-concept, or volume production run: we tailor our approach to consider not only the here-and-now, but to support the future needs of the development process.
Typical engagement
-
01
Understand
Discuss the challenge: what exists already, operational constraints, how we can help, and what defines success.
-
02
Define
Agree on scope, deliverables, team responsibilities, and review milestones. Our work covers tightly-bounded scopes to open-ended research and feasibility investigations.
-
03
Develop
Conduct the iterative engineering design, building and testing process. We maintain regular conversations with our clients to report our progress, discuss challenges that arise, and ensure we remain aligned on the developmental direction.
-
04
Verify and hand over
Validate results against agreed acceptance criteria and transfer ownership of any CAD models, schematics, source code, test evidence, and supporting documentation.
A practical first step
A short introductory call is usually enough to establish whether a project aligns with our technical capabilities, and what next steps might look like. We will always be transparent if a project is not a good fit for us.
